Christmas Activities with Grandchildren

What a wonderful Saturday morning! We began with presents - I made aprons and purchased chef's hats for the boys. My daughter and grandgirl had matching John Deere aprons! They looked so cute. My daughterNlaw had toille and mom had ferns, I wore my Paula Deen apron and was ready to begin a day of baking. After opening the gifts and getting into our required "attire" we began baking cookies! What a day! We stirred, dipped, and baked until we had plates and plates full of delicious looking cookies for the holidays. What a wonderful way to spend the Saturday before Christmas!

Christmas Morning...

ahhhhh....relaxing.....that is what Christmas mornings are now. The children call and tell us what treasures they find under the tree and we well, after 35 Christmas mornings together, relax. It is a new and wonderful time in our lives. Those busy Christmas mornings are in the past, but the memories of them will last for a lifetime.

Being a grandmother of five myself, I am constantly reminded of all that my grandparents gave to me. They taught me how to work and enjoy it. They taught me the importance of sitting down to a meal together. They showed me how the power of love can transform a life. They taught me that God reigns supreme in our lives and all the glory for everything is due Him. I want to make sure that as a grandmother those same gifts are taught to my grandchildren.
