Why do you teach?

In today's educational dilemna, I'm wondering - why do you teach? Do you love the challenge of reaching the neediest child? Are you interested in touching the future? Would it be possible, that you feel this is your calling? With all of the talk about what teachers have to do today and how much they are accountable for, I'm just wondering - why do you teach?
